Film Impact of Georgia (FIG) Launch

May 18 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

As part of the House Party Series at the MET, FIG (Film Impact of Georgia) will be having a launch party celebration hosted by Zombie Cat Productions and Film Impact of Georgia.

The purpose of Film Impact Georgia is to promote growth where our roots are planted. We dedicate ourselves to empowering individuals in the film and television industry by nurturing community leaders, advocating for the underrepresented, and inspiring change both locally and throughout the state. We leverage our leadership, commitment and influence towards reducing the imbalances that exist today in an industry that is capable of altering the human condition.

At this event, we plan to recap the successes of the Georgia Film Industry in the last year while also talking openly about what Georgia still needs to do to move forward in true independence from outside studios.

Our main goal with this event is to raise money to award local filmmakers grants that they can use to make films. The grants will be given based on an application process, and the requirements for the grant recipients would be that they support inclusivity in some way through antagonists, protagonists, crew and/or cast, and they shoot the film in Georgia. We also hope to help connect local filmmakers with additional resources to increase the value of those projects.

The list of speakers at the event includes:

  • Lisa Cunningham – Atlanta Film Partners
  • Peter Stathopoulos – Picture it Productions
  • Deborah Riley Draper – Coffee Bluff Pictures
  • Frederick Taylor – Tomorrow Pictures

Note: This is a private event but it is open to all tenants at the MET.

The event will be held in the Penthouse at the MET.  Click here for directions to the Penthouse.
